Three killed in robbery incident in Benue

THREE persons were reported killed by suspected armed robbers who invaded a filling station at Tor Donga in Katsina Ala local government area of Benue state.

Source at the area told our correspondent that the suspects had arrived the filling station on a motor cycle where they ordered everyone within the premises to lay face down.

The suspected robbers were said to have carted away money and valuables from the victims.

While confirming the report Benue State command spokesman, ASP Moses Yamu said that the incident occurred around 7am on Monday, saying that two persons were killed in the robbery incident.

The police spokesman Yamu added that the robbery gang on arrival at the filling station had ordered everyone to lay on the bare floor throughout the operation.

Yamu said that the man died on his way to the hospital, alongside another civilian who was shot dead by the robbers in the course of the operation.

He explained that the wounded soldier who is part of a military special squad stationed in the area close to where the robbery took place only responded to a distress call from the victims.
