Three persons lost their lives in an auto crash that occurred at Gofamint in Ogunmakin along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, at about 10.55 pm on Tuesday.
The Ogun State Sector Commander FRSC, Ahmed Umar, in a statement made issued by Florence Okpe, FRSC Public Education Officer, confirmed the incident involving a mini truck with registration number YYY 457 YY and a Toyota Hiace marked DUI 187 FST.
Umar said the accident was a result of excessive speed and route violation on the part of the truck driver which led to a collision.
He said: “A total of six persons were involved which comprises of four male adult and two female adults. One person was injured while two women and the driver of the bus died in the accident.”
Umar stated that only one male adult was injured in the incident, adding that the injured victim was taken to an hospital in Ogere while those who lost their lives were evacuated and deposited at a morgue in Ipara.
He advised motorists to be cautious and always avoid route violations, especially at night.
