The plaintiff stated that he got married to his wife 17 years ago, and that their union had produced four children.
According to him, trouble started in the home when he took a second wife.
“I have known no peace since I got married to my second wife. She threatened to send hired assassins to kill me.
“She’s fetish and kept fetish objects in her wardrobe. I have reported her to her family members but she refused to change.
“I sent her packing when I could no longer tolerate her troublesome ways.
“I thus urged the court to dissolve our marriage.
“I’m also no more interested in our marriage,” Tawa told the court.
“He took a second wife, rented an apartment for her and neglected me and our children.
“He’s a drunk and drinks himself to stupor everyday. When drunk, he would beat me mercilessly.
“I pray the court to separate us so that I can have peace of mind and have time enough to take care of our children, “the defendant stated.
The court president, Mr. Adegboyega Omilola adjourned the case till January 23 and ordered the two to come to court with their children and parents.
