This is Nigeria: OAPs stand behind Falz as Nigerians stick with plagiarism allegation

Published by

Some On Air Personalities have expressed shock at the flagrant criticisms of the latest release by Nigeria’s comic rapper, Folarin Falana professionally known as Falz deh Bahd Guy titled This is Nigeria.

The song which exposes the many social and political ills of the country received a ton of negative reviews by Nigerians on social media simply because it aped an original version by Childish Gambino titled “This is America”.

But OAPs from a Lagos radio named hotfm_Lagos came together to register their despondency about what they believe is an amazing job in a post on Instagram.

Speaking, Jasper, an OAP with HotFM, said, “I don’t care what anyone says about Falz deh Bahd Guy. Falz is better than 90 per cent of the artistes we have in this industry”.

“What do people want?” Asked OAP Miss Molu.

“I don’t get it. I think Falz has done an amazing job. All the people are saying that your plagiarised, (whatever) that you shouldn’t be doing that.”

“Shut up fam! Are you mad, fam! Like are you serious, fam! You mean we shouldn’t be talking about the hardship we go through in this country. One of the leaders in this nation can’t even read a simple speech, said Nicky, a Lifestyle Vlogger and OAP at HotFM93.3.

“We are our own problem in this country. Ourselves by ourselves. And the only solution is for us to change our mind-set”, Jasper concluded.

Speaking about why he made the song the “This is Nigeria” crooner said, “I made the video because I feel like it is very important that we raise a heightened level of social consciousness and political awareness. I believe everyone is very distracted by entertainment as a whole.

“And we have forget that we are going through so much struggle as a people. So many political ills and so many social vices continue to disturb us as a country.

And I think the remedy to this is for us to stand up and start to react. The most immediate reaction is to go out there and get your PVC. As soon as the ruling power realises that the actual voting power is in the hands of the people they will begin to act right. Go out there and participate in the forthcoming election.”

The song which has recorded about 3 million views on Youtube since its released on the 25th of May was recently endorsed by famous American artiste, Piddy, who posted a clip on his Instagram account and tagging Falz and congratulating for the good.
