There’s global acknowledgement of insecurity in Nigerians —CCN

Published by

The South-West zone of the Christian Council of Nigeria [CCN] has lamented what it described as global acknowledgement of zero security for Nigerians and asked the Federal Government to, without further delay, put an end to all avoidable killings in the country.

This was contained in acommuniqué issued at the end of the meeting of zonal CCN which was signed by Right Reverend Victor Adegbite and Venerable Paul Farotimi, Chairman and Secretary respectively where the Federal Government was called upon to separate criminals from among the people living in Nigeria irrespective of tribes or nationalities.

Lamenting that there was no single area where people can sleep with their eyes closed, the church said that ‘’the claims that the herdsmen tormenting Nigerians are not the country’s citizens despite their access to the country has serious political implication to both our collective sovereignty and to the current government capability of handling the insecurity problems.”

While asking the government to review its current security architecture with the intention to put in place a more pragmatic and responsive security, the CCN said the government should not mind seeking help from within and outside if such would put an end to the problem.
