The race to 2019 presidency

Published by

A major challenge to Nigeria’s very survival is corruption. To some, poverty, not corruption, is Nigeria’s greatest problem. A lucid explanation will show how to deal with both. Poverty stems from corruption and therefore, it becomes the offshoot of corruption. When the root (corruption) is taken out, the stem (poverty) withers naturally.

Agreed that the two main political parties are constellations of elitist networks, identically structured and peopled by looters of our common wealth, yet there is one person that can stand in the gap in the midst of the frightening machination of the elite to cover the truth. Truth is failing in Nigeria. Yet there are a few people who have the best interest of the nation at heart. One of such is President Muhammadu Buhari. He has demonstrated the needed forthrightness to ensure that our desires are prioritized. It is within this reality that we have many others who are working very hard to ensure that the president’s best of securing the welfare of our dear nation is not realised. We must begin to deemphasise the politics of moneybags. They do nothing but empty our treasuries. They believe that call to national service should be for those who can make business of the whole process. We must identify those among us who can take us to where we truly desire. Politics should be about the welfare of our people. The reverse should not be the case.

All Nigerians have a duty and a role to play. We must push for the betterment of our country. Our economy must work. Our education sector must work. All aspects of our national life concern us and it would indeed be out of place not to show the needed interest and courage to salvage our dear country from the precipice of ruin. We must display bravery in helping and strengthening those who are championing the political, economical rebirth of our nation.
