Your Life counts

The power of motivation (IV)

We have been looking at the power of motivation.

“Life motivation comes from the deep longings of the heart, and the passion to see them fulfilled urges you onward.” Proverbs 16:26 Passion.

“Let love and kindness be the motivation behind all that you do.”

1 Corinthians 16:14 Passion.

We need to be self motivated and we have looked at three ways – Understand your purpose, take responsibility for your life and setting goals.

Today we continue.

4)     Form success habits by engaging in routines, drills and disciplines e.g. punctuality, prayer time, training, personal development, daily reading etc.

5)     Do self evaluation regularly-daily, weekly and as occasion demands. Self evaluation helps you to monitor your progress.

Have an accountability partner who can assist and facilitate your assessment.

“Surround yourself with people who push you, who challenge you, who make you laugh, who make you better, who make you happy.” Anonymous

6)     Be resilient – bounce back quickly from setbacks. Don’t dwell on failures, disappointments – go for solutions.

“Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” Calvin Coolidge

“Don’t quit yet, the worst moments are usually followed by the most beautiful silver linings. You have to stay strong, remember to keep your head up and remain hopeful.”Unknown

7)     See the end – Hebrew 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” See the future from the finish line.

8)     Access the help of the Holy Spirit.

“But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.” John 14:26 Amplified.

  1. Let the word of God be your underlying basis of your motivation. Let Jesus be your model.

“And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation.” Philippians 2:5 Passion.
