Stylish monarch, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, is a man of many parts.
The monarch of the good people of Iwo, in a recent statement, said many people did not understand him and that all he cared about was to fight for his rights and also touch the lives of his people.
Living up to his words, he displayed his usual side again a few days to the sallah festival by doling out cash gifts to the under-privilege, his chiefs and aides.
Oba Akanbi, while giving out the gifts in his palace, hinted that it became necessary for him to cushion the effect of subsidy removal with the remark ‘my people are my power, I’m their servant’.
The elated recipients, filled with thanks, recalled the numerous kinds of support they get from the palace and their resolve to always serve their king.
