The Oke-Ogun Poly acting rector warns newly admitted students on indecent dressing

The acting rector of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, Oyo State, Mr Kayode Ogunmola, has warned the newly admitted students to face their studies squarely and do away with acts capable of tarnishing the image of the institution and theirs.

Ogunmola gave the warning on Thursday during the matriculation of over 2,000 students for the 2019/2020 academic session.

He said The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic cherished disciplines and integrity hence, the indecent dressing such as wearing of armless cloth, seductive trousers, slippers, and other ungodly dressings would not be condoned as enshrined in the students’ handbook.

He added that it is expected of students to desist from all forms of cult activities while they should respect the rules and regulations of the institution, adding that anyone caught violating the institution’s order would be seriously dealt with.

The school rector also declared that matriculation ceremony signals the end of the admission process, thereby conferring studentship on fresh who have concluded the process of registration.

Ogunmola also used the event to commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the prompt payment of staff salaries via the payment of 100 per cent subvention into the institution’s account.

He described the governor as a lover of education and a man of his word who does not believe in lip service.

He, therefore, called on the people of the state to rally behind the governor so as to take the state to the promised land.

The rector further used the venue to acknowledge the support and cooperation of members of the acting management team, the entire staff of the institution as well as town and gown committee and the host community.

Matriculation oat was led by the acting registrar of the institution, Mr. R. F. A. Adeniji, while the new students pledged not to, in whatsoever involved in any secret cult activities or belong to any association not registered or approved by the school authority.
