Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM)
Popularly known as Apostle Chibuzor, he is one of the most controversial and “enigmatic’’ Nigerian pastors of our time, especially with his preaching style and philanthropist nature.
Apostle Dr. Chibuzor Gift Chinyere was born on October 22nd, 1973, into the family of late Mr and Mrs Chinyere Nwankwo of Ohanku Ndoki, in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria.
He grew up to attend Seabird Nursery School in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. Shortly after that, he had his primary education at the army children school in Port Harcourt, where he obtained his first school leaving certificate.Chibuzor had his fair share of the hard times in life. In search of greener pastures, he left Port Harcourt for Lagos, where he slept under the bridge until he could secure a job as a cleaner with the Nigeria airport authority. He also worked as a security guard and sold GSM recharge cards to survive.
He was from the Jehovah Witness but had decided to toe the line of Pentecostalism. He discovered the mountain of fire ministry where he became a house fellowship teacher. He left the Mountain of Fire Ministry and became a freelance preacher of the gospel.
16 years ago, that when he founded the Omega Power Ministries popularly known as (OPM), where he became the Founder and General Overseer of the ministries.
Four years later, through the inspiration of God, he founded the Omega Power Ministries popularly known as (OPM), where he became the Founder and General Overseer of the ministries.
Backed by the anointing of God upon his life, he floated a humanitarian outfit called The OPM Foundation, a foundation that launched the man of God to the world as many souls were positively affected across the globe by his humanitarian services.

Some of the achievements of the foundation include rehabilitation empowerment, training, and alms-giving. He built 29 state of the art free schools for the poor and less privileged. The school is completely free, irrespective of their denomination or tribe and it is funded from Tithe and Offering. Each student received four pairs of school uniform: shoes, bags, books, and other writing materials free of charge. He also embarked on a free school feeding programme. Currently, more than 45,000 less privileged Nigerians have benefited and are still benefitting from the free schools.
Other notable philanthropy activities:
1. Built TWO free specialist hospitals in Rivers State and Abia State for the poor and less privileged pregnant women, which has drastically reduced the high rate of maternal mortality in Nigeria. From registration, antenatal services, drugs, scans, operations, delivery tests, delivery kits, and sesearan sessions (operation) are free.
2. Built 18 free estates where the poor, the less privileged, and repented armed robbers, repented kidnappers, repented militants who laid up their arms are living while undergoing rehabilitation The free estate also accommodated the repented prostitutes who were relocated from their brothels to the free estate after giving their lives to God. All their clothing, feeding, and upkeep have been taken over by the church.
3. Built a free restaurant for the poor and less privileged in Nigeria

OPM has offered foreign undergraduate and Nigerian University scholarships to more than 7000 less privileged Nigerians who are currently studying in United States of America, Canada, Turkey, Poland, Cyprus , Benin Republic and other universities in Nigeria. At ESM University Benin Republic alone, Apostle Chinyere has over 650 students under OPM scholarship. He is the first man to open a free restaurant inside the foreign university campus at ESN University Benin Republic to enable the benefiaries of OPM scholarship to eat adequate food.
5. Built the largest multi free skills acquisition centre in Port Harcourt.
OPM’S free skills acquisition initiatives have been in operation for the past 12 years. Currently the centre has trained more than 40,000 Nigerians in various vocational skills such as Marine Engineering, Oil Rigging Operations, Oil well Drilling completion and production technology, Instrumentation and control, Scaffolding, Tailoring, Health safety and Environment, Paint Production, Pipeline welding, Driving, Argon Welding, Furniture making, Pipe Fitting, ICT ( COMPUTER ENGINEERING), Toiletries, Food and Nutrition, Production of shoes, bags and hats etc.
6. Bought cars and built houses for widows and orphans, etc. Apostle Chinyere also placed many widows on monthly allowance.
7. He has opened businesses and gave support fund to numerous less privileged Nigerians to lift them out of poverty.

He has contributed immensely to curb insecurity in Rivers State through the collaborative effort of the Rivers State Government and Nigerian police as many armed robbers, kidnappers, militants, cultist etc have come and laid up their arms in OPM while Apostle Chinyere built a massive rehabilitation center where they are being taking care of.
9. Constructed a computer training centre at Elele prison, equiped the centre with computers and employed specialist to teach the prisoners to enable them to learn skills.
10. Taking over of Government secondary school in Abia State. Apostle Chinyere took over a government secondary school. Ikwuorie Comprehensive Secondary school was dilapidated, waec centre removed, students left except four remaining students in a whole secondary school.
Apostle Chinyere restored the waec centre, renovated the school, constructed the desk, and built a corpers lodge. He also constructed a bore hole and bought a big generator for pumping water. When he discovered that they were lacking teachers , he employed more than 8 qualified teachers to assist those employed by the Abia State Government.
Today, a school that was almost closed down has over 250 students. He paid the school fees of the students from JSS1 to SS3 to the Abia State Ministry of Education.
He have restored the hope of the poor who could not send their children to school.
12. During covid 19 in 2020, Apostle Chinyere moved round the street of Port Harcourt and distributed rice and other food items to reduce food crises and hunger occasioned by covid 19.
13. He also organized free eye check and treatment to over 250 people in Abia and distributed free eye glasses to those who needed it.
