TETFund rates FUTMinna high on research, project execution

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) monitoring and verification team has commended the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna) for keeping up with the project execution policy as required by the Fund.

Leader of the team, Prof. Ediga Agbo gave the commendation on Friday, June 23, 2023, during an exit meeting at the University’s Senate Chamber, main campus, Gidan Kwano.

Agbo commended the University management for the high rating the institution scored in terms of execution of all the 12 projects the monitoring and verification assessed.

He pointed out that, the receipts and pieces of evidence of all the purchases made were also presented to the team on demand, adding that while some of the receipts had reached their colleagues at the TETFund office, others are with the Director of Research, Innovation, and Development.

He added that the scenario shows that the Principal Researchers are carrying others along in project execution. Agbo observed further that some of the staff were practically enthusiastic with what they do, and have shown commitment to their jobs, adding that his team appreciates seeing such commitment.

He noted that most of the projects had potential for patents and advised researchers to patent before publishing and that they should always acknowledge TETFund which is the Chief Financier of the projects when writing their journal papers.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof. Uno Essang Uno expressed Management appreciation to TETFund for her interventions in the development of the Institution.

He commended the team for the thorough work done and assured them that the management would address all the issues raised accordingly.

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, has inaugurated the University Advancement Board with a call on its members to intensify efforts on how to garner resources for running the institution.

The inauguration took place on Monday, June 19, 2023, at the Senate Chamber, main campus, Gidan Kwano.
