Teenage boy stabs father to death in Kogi

A 19-year-old man, Abba Yusuf, allegedly killed his 60-year-old father, Alhaji Dahiru Yusuf Maileather, in the Sarkin-Noma area of Lokoja, Kogi State, over the weekend.

According to an eyewitness report, the incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. Abba Yusuf is said to have fatally stabbed his father.

Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Bala, the elder brother of the deceased, confirmed the tragic incident.

He mentioned that he was at home when he received a call from their sister informing him about the unfortunate event.

“When my sister called me, she said our brother had been killed by his son. I quickly ran to my brother’s residence only to be told he had been moved to a hospital,” he said.

Bala added that the suspect has been handed over to the police. He also mentioned that the mother of the suspect and her other two children have fled to an unknown destination.
