A 38-year-old technician, Idris Lawal, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court over alleged theft of an elevator traction machine sheave worth N780,000.
Lawal, who resides at No. 7, Oki Road, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Victor Eruada told the court that the defendant committed the offences with some other persons still at large on Nov. 16, 2016, at No 95/97 Town Planning Way, Ilupeju, Lagos.
Eruada said that Lawal stole an elevator traction machine sheave belonging to one Mr Onyeka Ndubueze, in contravention of Section 411 and 287 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, M.I. Dan-Oni, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case until May 15
