THE Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has assured the people of Tawari community that his administration would do everything to stand by them and ensure immediate assistance for the victims of the attack.
Recall that some unknown gunmen on Thursday night attacked Tawari community in Kogi Local Government Area of the state, burning buildings, including the palace of the king of the community.
The governor gave the assurance when he visited the Ohimege-Igu of Koto Karfe, HRM Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Koto, at his palace on Sunday.
The governor’s visit came a day after he delegated his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, to visit Tawari Community for on the spot assessment of the attack.
Bello reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that the attackers of Tawari Community that caused the destruction of lives and property, were fished out and brought to justice.

While condoling the Ohimege and the people of the area, Governor Bello enjoined the people to remain calm assuring that his administration would not relent in his effort to guarantee the safety of lives and protection of property of the people of the state.
The governor described the incident as barbaric, inhumane, stressing that there was no amount of provocation that could warrant such actions by the militia.
He, therefore, assured the people affected by the crisis that his administration will do everything to stand by them, noting that both the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), would provide them timely supports.
The governor thanked the security agencies in the state including the state vigilante service for their prompt response in restoring peace in the community.
