Recently, popular artiste, Drake, was said to have got a tattoo of renowned actor, Denzel Washington.
As tattoos continue to trend, even with the seeming wide acceptance, Nigerians differ on reasons for getting tattoos, in different interactions with Makeover.
Oreoluwa Obasa, who notes that there’s always a reason for getting a tattoo, states that: “Some people draw tattoos to mark accomplishment at different stages of their lives. Sometimes, tattoos are a cultural expression, and at other times, can be a form of rebellion against a certain status quo or even parents.”
For Prosper Asiyanbola, who says tattooing is an excuse for some persons to simply feel among a group, affirms that it is quite fashionable to ink oneself.
In the opinion of Hannah Akinyemi, “People draw tattoos based on their love for something, such as tattoos of famous rappers, musicians, footballers, among others.”
