THE vice chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, has been awarded the ‘Pan-African Servant Leadership Award’ by the African Students’ Union Parliament (ASUP).
While presenting the award, the speaker of the parliament, Kewul Abel, described Professor Arigbabu as a detribalised African, lover of students and charismatic personality whose dedicated leadership, patriotism, educational development and community services stand him out as a patriotic African worthy of emulation.
He said the award had become inevitable at this point in time when African youths need exemplary leaders as role models.
In his own submission, Comrade Ozim Temple, from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, requested for partnership with TASUED so as to combat the scourge of drug abuse that is prevalent among African youths.
