Taraba lawmaker honoured with excellent legislative award

The federal lawmaker representing Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency in Taraba State and Chairman of the House Committee on Nigeria-China Relations, Honourable Jaafaru Yakubu, has been honored with an Excellence in Legislative Leadership Award for his contributions to strengthening relations between Nigeria and the Republic of China.

The award was presented during the New Year Gala Celebration, a grand event held in the nation’s capital, celebrating the diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

According to the organizers, the recognition celebrates the lawmaker’s visionary leadership and dedicated service in fostering and strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and China.

“Under his stewardship, the ties between the two nations have not only deepened but have also witnessed concerted efforts to address and bridge the trade deficit gap, creating a more balanced and mutually beneficial economic partnership,” they noted.

Some stakeholders who spoke at the event highlighted Hon. Yakubu’s commitment to fostering diplomatic and trade relations, which they said has paved the way for enhanced collaboration in key sectors such as commerce, technology, and cultural exchange.

“The award highlights the significant strides Nigeria has made in leveraging its legislative prowess to build stronger ties with global partners. Hon. Yakubu’s contributions serve as a testament to the pivotal role legislative leadership plays in driving international cooperation and development,” one speaker remarked.

The New Year Gala Celebration was attended by top dignitaries, legislators, diplomats, and key players in Nigeria-China relations, including the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, Esq. The event marked yet another milestone in the shared commitment to fostering friendship and prosperity between the two nations.
