Taraba JSC transits court to digital legal processes, trains staff on e-filing

The Taraba State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Friday concluded training for judicial officers, magistrates, and registrars on e-filing and the Nigeria Case Management System as part of its transition from analog to digital court processes.

Nigerian Tribune reports that Mr. Bartholomew Kaigama, the Chief Registrar of the Taraba State High Court of Justice, disclosed that following the increase in overhead costs under Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration, the State Chief Judge, Justice Joel Agya, has provided desktops and laptops to all high court judges to facilitate e-filing and the online assignment of cases.

Mr. Mahmud Adamu, the Training Head of the Technical Judicial Information Technology Policy Commission, explained to participants during the training in Jalingo that the initiative is aimed at transforming the judicial system to provide easier and more effective services.

He noted that a Device Level Agreement (DLA) has been programmed to address network or technical hitches. He commended Justice Joel Agya for being one of the pioneers in northern Nigeria in adopting this technology.
