Tambuwal received INEC certificate of return as 16 APC members elect boycott

The Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has received his certificate of return from Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alongside his deputy.

In a ceremony which was well attended by party faithfuls and others at the auditorium hall of Sultan Machido Institute of Quranic and General Studies on Thursday.

The Governor called on the people of the state not to loose faith in his administration, saying all the electoral campaign promises he made would be visited and executed.

He thanks the electorate for voting him into power which he dedicated to God. According to Governor Aminu Tambuwal.

“When we won the election with a margin of 3,413, INEC in their wisdom declared the election inconclusive, but later Allah in his wisdom conclude the election.

“He did it with a margin of 342, let me remind them all, a win is a win, no matter what the margin of winning is.

“I am appealing to our brothers and sisters from whatever party to come and join us to move the state forward. It is only Allah that gives power and has choose who he intends to give in the state.

Earlier, the INEC commissioner in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara, Hajia Amina Zakari, reminded politicians to promote violence free electoral process ahead of 2023 general election, saying INEC on it’s part is ready to improve and learnt from past mistakes.

She revealed that INEC does not believe in inconclusive election , saying the major reason for it is issue of violence and urge all political stakeholders to promote violence free election.

She called on the winners to give back dividends of democracy to the electorates, while those that could not win today may emerge victorious tomorrow.

Meanwhile, 16, house of assembly members elected on the platform of APC were not present during the presentation of certificate of return to the house members elect.

It will be recalled that out of thirty members of house of assembly in the state. The All Progressive Congress (APC), has 16 members, while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), produce 14 members
