A Sokoto State-born professional engineer, Eng. Tambari Zayyanu Yabo, has urged citizens across Nigeria, especially youths, to invest more in education, reading, and training to tackle challenges in life effectively.
He made this call while delivering a lecture at a one-day public lecture organized by the Beacon Literacy Foundation in Sokoto on Wednesday.
Speaking on the topic, “Professionalism: Catalyst for Sustainable Development in Nigeria,“ Eng. Yabo highlighted the differences between a professional, an unprofessional, and a catalyst.

He emphasised that to be a thoroughbred professional, one must continuously update their knowledge through training, reading, and active engagement to adapt to the evolving demands of life.
Furthermore, he encouraged participants, particularly youths, to prioritize spending on books and attending seminars to enhance their knowledge rather than on clothing and other material items.
Earlier, the convener of the lecture, Dr. Tambari Ismaila Waziri, urged attendees to apply the knowledge gained from the program. He praised the guest lecturer as a highly qualified engineer who has dedicated himself to acquiring knowledge and education.
The event’s highlight was the presentation of an award of excellence to the guest speaker, Eng. Tambari Zayyanu Yabo, by the convener.
