Sympathisers throng residence of Gov Makinde’s late brother in Ibadan

Scores of sympathisers have continued to throng the Alarere residence of the late Engr. Sunday Makinde, elder brother of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Late Makinde died at his residence in Ibadan on Friday. His remains have been deposited at the morgue in preparation for the final burial rites.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, Are Isiaka Olagunju, expressed grief over what he described as the sudden death of Engr. Makinde.

Olagunju, during his condolence visit to the family of the deceased on Saturday, prayed to God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Also, the Babaloja General of Oyo State, Alhaji Yekeen Abass, counselled the people on the need to make positive impacts while alive.

According to him, “Engr Makinde is dead but his good deeds will be forever remembered.”

Other dignitaries that paid condolence visits to the family include the Chairman of the Park Managers System (PMS), Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa; the Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Benedict Akiika; Iba Nureni Akanbi; Senior Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor, Hon. Ademola Adejumobi; PDP Secretary, Oyo State, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke; Special Adviser on Establishment and Training, Alhaji Siju Lawal; and Hon. Nike Arewa.
