SWEAT SHIRTS are English unofficial shirts worn by men and women to keep body warm in times of cold. Sweat shirts are tops that heat up our body in cold weather and they are thick in nature. It is an alternative for sweater or jacket. It is a loose, long-sleeved, collarless pullover of soft, absorbent fabric, such as cotton jersey, with close-fitting or elastic cuffs and sometimes a drawstring at the waist. The name sweatshirt came from the word ‘Loopwheel’ the traditional knitting machine that was historically used to knit the fabric and put it into shape. The fabric was originally designed to allow the sweatshirt to absorb heat from your body and pass it into the garment to keep you cool.
It does not just make you feel warm during the cold weather and rainy season but it also makes you to feel cool during the heat as it absolves heat during dry season and makes you feel good.
During cold weather, we can wear an undershirt with it as long as it is not sticking out under the bottom of the sweatshirt. Another advantage of wearing a shirt under your sweatshirt is that you don’t have to wash the sweatshirt as often as the shirt.
