The senator representing Taraba North senatorial district, Sen. Shuaibu Isa Lau, on Wednesday, flagged off the distribution of food packs as palliative to disabled persons and pensioners in Yorro, Jalingo, Karim-Lamido and Ardo-Kola local government areas of Taraba state.
Hon. Gidado Aminu, the Senior Special Assistant to Senator Lau on constituency matters, disclosed during the event that the gesture was to compliment both the federal and state government efforts toward alleviating the effect of fuel subsidy removal on vulnerable constituents.
He also noted that all the six local governments in the constituency would be captured in the distribution.
“This gesture is Senator Lau’s effort to alleviate the hash effect of the fuel subsidy removal especially on the vulnerable persons and pensioners. The representatives of all the local government are to proceed and distribute the foodstuffs to the targeted persons at the respected local governments of the constituency,” he noted.
Mr. Samson Buba and Ali Haruna, while receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, express gratitude to Sen. Lau, for his Godly heart to give to the vulnerable, regardless of religion, tribal or political line.
They pray to God to give him wisdom and strength to deliver on the mandate of his constituency.
