For a lot  of reasons, Christmas is loved by many, regardless of their religion or culture.

The fact that Christmas comes up at the end of the year creates a general thanksgiving and merry mode.

It is a season for holidays, partying, hangouts, festivities and celebrations. A time to spend quality time reconnecting and having fun with family members. It is also a period when the spirit of generosity is in the air, It’s a time of sharing and giving.

While in this happy mood, it is only wise to plan your looks and outfit to reflect our joyful and thanksgiving mode.

So what should you wear this festive season?

Let the suits and ties rest, get into more comfy and traditional look!

Fashion this season should be bold and comfortable.

*A black velvet dress will be an asset that can be styled creatively with bold accessories. Can be worn to office end of year dinner. However,  be careful not to overdo the accessories.

*Don’t forget it is celebration time so spare not, be gorgeous in your  3 D lace traditional skirt and blouses, the  necklines can be more daring and sleeves exaggerated.

You can also  go casual looks like:

* The kimono jackets on a palazzo pants (be it Ankara or striped)

*Organza tops with puffed sleeves

*Striped pants

* Wrapped Ankara blouse

*Blouses or tops in traditional embroidery styles

* You can also rock caftans, dresses and  abayas.

For the matured ladies, the stunning vintage look of flowing but generously embellished floor length or knee dresses with exaggerated puff sleeves, bishop sleeves, virago sleeves will give that festive yet chic look.

 Style ideas for men

*Agbada still rocks but now comes with a lot of bling and the traditional necklines and embroidery is returning with a twist.

* Buba and Sokoto:  Men’s tunics are now longer in length, more like a calf length and some are even having the floor length. Sleeves are getting longer and you will find more of cufflinks than buttons on the fashion scene.

* Dansiki

Embroidery on the Dansiki should bling a bit
