Strike: ABSU ASUU declares Wednesday work-free for member

Ahead of looming Indefinite strike action by Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU Abia State University, Uturu, ABSU branch has declared Wednesday 9, February 2021, work-free hours for members.

According to the Abia State University, Uturu branch chairperson, Dr Victor Nkemdirim the university branch would use the occasion to mobilize its members and sensitize the public.

“We will observe the lecture-free day, one-day strike and the mobilization of members, as well as sensitize the public on our demands”.

It would be recalled that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU had directed its members to observe lecture-free days across the nation’s universities within the week.
