There is strength in Nigeria’s diversity ―Ex-Gov Aspirant

A former Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Edo State, Mr Kenneth Imansuagbon, has said that secession will not work in Nigeria but called on the President Muhammadu led administration to ensure justice and equity in the country.

Imansuagbon, who is the Chairman of Pace Setters Schools, Abuja, spoke on Wednesday at the International Cultural Day of the Pace Setters College, where he noted that culture as a way of life the world should be a unifying factor in Nigeria.

He said: “In Nigeria we are diversified people in terms of culture but the diversity of our culture is very beautiful. Strength can be derived from that diversity. We differ in tribe and culture but we are one people under God.

He noted Nigerians must emphasis the unity and the strength that could be derive as a people to make the nation stronger, other than the spices that could divide the country.

While condemning the Arewa Youth over recent quit notice issued the Igbos living in the Northern part of the country, Imansuagbon, maintained that Nigeria would be better living together as an indivisible entity.

He admitted that there were a lot of issues in the country but insisted that such issues could be addressed by ensuring justice, equity, and fairness.

He said: “Those who are calling for secession should forget it. The quit notice given by some group is dead on arrival. It is an expression of frustration by the downtrodden against those who are oppressing them.

“The problems is that Africans emphasis their weaknesses rather than the strength. The time has come for us to emphasis what strengthens us and what strengthens us can only be found if there is fairness. I’m an apostle of fairness and equity,” he said.

He noted that the various cultural parade of countries across the globe by the school children was an eloquent demonstration of the uniqueness of culture in the unification of the people.
