If the IGP has not assumed that the Senate President is a criminal, he should have gone to meet him in his office concerning any allegations that might have been made against him. That is what is obtainable in a civilized society, I also understand that the Vice President has directed that that should be done but I was surprised to read in this paper of June 7, 2018, that the IGP is not going to act on the direction of the Vice President and he is still calling on the Senate President to come to his office.

As long as DR Saraki remains the Senate President, it is the senate that has the power to deal with him for any offence he committed by impeaching him, so also the President. It is the National Assembly that can deal with him by impeachment, not the Police, though the police can see them for their side of any allegation leveled against them.
That is the practice all over the world and we Nigerians should be part of that body, so also members of the judiciary. If the body that ought to deal with any offenders fails to do so, as soon as he is out of office, he can be dealt with for any crime committed when in office as nobody is above the law of the land.
If anybody is holding an office, that office has the duty and power to deal with him from the office and then the law can deal with him as an ordinary citizen later. All these should not be matters of newspaper debates.
I am disturbed by the comments of some Nigerians, who are saying that the Senate President should go to the office of the Inspector-General to answer the call of the IGP.
I am of the humble view that such people cannot differentiate Dr. Saraki as the Senate President from Dr. Saraki as an ordinary person. Officials of the government must stop ridiculing the members of Nigerian public as if they are uncivilized people.
The cause for all these is that people are appointed into positions on quota basis and not on the merit or knowledge of how things are to be done or should be done.
We have made our nation a laughing stock in the Committee of Nations. Nigerians are calling for restructuring to end or minimize all these problems facing the country today without anybody doing anything about restructuring or proffering solutions to our numerous problems. I wish Nigerians stop portraying our nation as a country of nonentities.
