Stop spreading lies, PDP attacks Sokoto APC

Published by
Sokoto state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has dismissed all the allegations levels against the state government by the main opposition in the state, All Progressive Congress (APC), saying they are all fabricating lies to score sheep goals by the opposition.
In a statement signed by the state chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Ibrahim Milgoma, and made available to Tribune Online in the state, the party condemned APC for allegedly spreading fake and unfabricated tissues of lies not only to the people of the state but also the entire country.
According to Milgoma, “The PDP has learnt that APC in Sokoto State has come up with another pack of lies, which is their posture since politics began in 2019, claiming victimisation of civil servants by the government of Sokoto State on partisan grounds.
“Our party, as well as all the entire people in Sokoto State, are aware that these allegations by the APC are actually right out their post-election blueprint if they had won.
“It is common knowledge that the APC planned a massive sack of civil servants, who did not support their party and targeted many of them for physical assault and other forms of humiliation.
“The APC wanted to dust up the blueprint of its leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, who after winning the governorship election in 2007, embarked on the most massive sack and demotion of civil servants in the history of Sokoto State.
“Wamakko then demoted hundreds of directors to ordinary staff and deranked eight permanent secretaries to directors, assistant directors and school principals. Many of his victims are still alive and in service.
“The claim by APC of being supported by 80% of civil servants is ridiculous. The only few disgruntled civil servants opposed to the Tambuwal administration are those, who reject his accountability and prudent style of leadership in contrast to Wamakko’s extravagant and wasteful regime, during which public funds were diverted and splashed recklessly on the streets.
“These are elements, who reject the economic realities of our country, with a shortage of funds to throw around, when the federal civil servants are worst hit by long delays in salaries and lack of funding for federal MDAs, including hospitals.
“Tambuwal’s government owes nothing to its workers, has been prompt in salaries and even providing salary advances in periods of need. The sale of all government quarters to occupants, a majority of whom are civil servants is in sharp contrast to Wamakko’s attempt to swindle them of their shelter, through fraudulent sales schemes when he was governor.
“Workers enjoyed loans and training during Tambuwal’s administration which have improved their capacity for service and their future endeavours” he added.
The party, however, described 2019 governorship poll in Sokoto State as a measure of people’s opinion on which party they wish to lead them.
” They chose integrity and rejected moral, ethical and social decadence, they opted for credibility and competence against mediocrity” he concluded.
