Stop playing God with PMB’s health ―Ogun gov aspirant tells Nigerians

A governorship hopeful in Ogun State, Mr Owoduuni Opayemi, has advised Nigerians to stop playing politics about the state of health of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He noted that the resume or resign protest by a group of Nigerians was uncalled for since the office is not in vacuum.

Opayemi who is eyeing the seat of governor in 2019 under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said further that human beings are bound to fall ill at any given time.

He said this while fielding questions from newsmen during the mid-term assessment tour of the State Executive Committee of the party, over the weekend.

Opayemi added, “We are not God and should stop playing God. Anybody can get sick at any time. Resignation shouldn’t come at all. I am against such a protest since the leadership of the party is doing well in governance.

“We have a capable Vice President who is doing a good job. So, why should we blame the government of the day because the president is sick? I am against that.”

The governorship aspirant also seized the opportunity to call on the leadership of the party to allow internal democracy during the primaries of the party in picking the best candidate for the election.

He declared that it would be a disservice if the leadership of the party allows sentiments of zoning to prevail in their choice of flag bearer for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

He promised to administer the State well if given the opportunity to serve.
