1. Steeze: Popularised by Nigerian comedian Taooma, refers to a person’s style and ease, especially in fashion.

2. Gwo Gwo Gwo: A slang from Igbo culture, means “the sound of heavy footsteps” and represents power and presence.

3. I’m a chosen: It expresses a sense of self-importance or to claim a special status, often with a religious connotation, which implies being special or favoured. It became prominent following video clips of some controversial testimonies from the Lord’s Chosen Church.

5. E don cast: Popularised after Burna Boys’s song “Last Last”, the slang means being exposed or caught out.

6. Go warm eba: This is a humourous way of telling someone to relax or mind their business.

7. Stop playing: This slang commands seriousness in a situation.
