‘It is a spoof’, Etinosa laughs over viral picture

Nigerian female comedian and actress, Etinosa Idemudia has described as “a spoof,” the report that has been widely circulated on social media of her proposing to a colleague, Bucci Franklin.

Etinosa during the week posted a photo of herself bending on one knee with a box before a surprised Bucci Franklin on her Instagram handle.

The caption attached to the supposed marriage proposal photo read, “About last night. Not everytime wait for bae to propose. Sometimes take the bull by the horn. I was so nervous but he said yes!”

Reactions following the post have been a mix of pleasant surprises, negative comments and disbelief.

However, in what seems like a confirmation of her previous post, Etinosa also posted another proposal pic on IG with floating balloons which say, “marry me” sparking wide belief that the proposal must have been genuine.

Bucci Franklin has also reposted the proposal picture on his own timeline, alongside the caption, “together forever bae…”

Many have congratulated the Edo girl for her bold move.

But in a private chat with Saturday Tribune, the Edo comediene guffawed when asked if the photo was real.

She said, “I am a comedian. It is a spoof.”

A spoof is “a humorous imitation of something, typically a film in which characteristic features are exaggerated for comic effect” according a dictionary definition.

Etinosa is one of the most sought-after Instagram comedians, especially for her comic videos and skits. The actress, who is a graduate of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, established the Etinosa TV to hone her craft on Instagram.
