In a statement made via his verified Twitter handle, former lawmaker Shehu Sani expressed his concerns about the lingering injustice surrounding the killings of EndSARS protesters in 2020 and members of the Islamic Movement in 2015.
He asserted that until justice is done for these victims, their spirits will continue to haunt the nation and hang over its skies.
Sani further claimed that the killing of over a thousand members of the Islamic Movement in Zaria was carried out on the orders of the then-military Chief of Army Staff and publicly supported by the former Governor of Kaduna State.
He cited hateful propaganda that encouraged the public to march and dance on the corpses of the victims while searching for valuables in their pockets.
The remains of these victims, including women and children, were reportedly buried in mass graves in Kaduna state.
Regarding the EndSARS protests, the former lawmaker stated that the killing of 103 protesters in Lagos is one of the hidden atrocities of the Buhari era.
Sani emphasised that the spirits of those who lost their lives, whether in Zaria or at the Lekki gate, will continue to haunt the country until justice is served.
