The charge was made in a letter signed by the group Chairman, professor Adeniyi Olu Obi and a member of its trustees, Professor Prof Yemi Kayode Adedeji.
According to a copy of the letter addressed to the Governor and made available to our reporter in Osogbo, the organization however, called for the release of a White Paper on the Report of the Ad-hoc Committee on the University of Ilesa, which the Governor promised in the recent broadcast to mark his first 100 days in office to enhance its take-off.
The letter read thus: “We are aware that the University had been duly approved by all the appropriate authorities after due diligence on all the requirements for the take-off of the University and appealed to the concerned authorities to expedite action on this.
It stressed, “Egbe Atuluse is distressed and saddened by what appears to us to be an inexplicable delay in the commencement of academic activities in the university,”
“Your Excellency, while the Egbe sincerely wishes your administration the best in all her endeavours, it will, as a politically non-partisan organization follow with keen interest the activities of your government. Please be assured of Egbe’s regard for your esteemed office and person.”
