About 170 newly elected members of the House of Representatives from all the six- geo-political zones of the country on Thursday adopted Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the Ninth National Assembly.
Speaking with news men in Abuja yesterday after their emergency meeting, Hon. Oniofon Luke , the spokesman of the group who is also the Speaker of the Akwa- Ibom State House said that the decision of the new members was on the need to enthrone a non sectional leader in the apex legislature in the 9th National Assembly
He described the group of lawmakers as Bi-Partisan re-elected and newly-elected lawmakers “who want to ensure that Nigerian national leaders are chosen from the best candidate.”

He described Hon. Gbajabiamila as a non-sectional and thoroughbred leader who would not disappoint Nigerians as the number four citizen if elected speaker.
The elected members from the six geo political zones across the various political parties attended the meeting which also had Gbajabiamila and members of his campaign organization in attendance.
