Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, cast his vote early on Saturday at Unit 5 Ward 9, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of the state.
This is as the state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke cast his ballot at his Sagba Abogunde, Unit 9, Ward 2, Ede North Local Government Area at exactly 8 a.m. on Saturday.
According to reports, people were voting peacefully at various polling units in Ede town.
This is coming after police advised the State Government to suspend the planned Local Government elections due to credible intelligence indicating a high likelihood of violence and significant security threats.
Governor Adeleke rejected the Police’s advice citing concerns over police partisanship and the need to uphold the rule of law.
