The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Abbas Tajudeen, on Tuesday lamented the flood that ravaged Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, between Monday and Tuesday.
Floodwaters inundated most parts of Maiduguri following a downpour that led to the collapse of the Alao Dam.
Among the affected locations was the palace of the Shehu of Borno, along with other key sites. Thousands of people were also displaced by the flood.
Expressing dismay over the disaster, Speaker Abbas called for concerted efforts to provide relief to the affected residents.
