Blue Origin is preparing to launch its 11th human spaceflight with a groundbreaking all-female crew.
The six women on board include Jeff Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sánchez; pop star Katy Perry; civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen; CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King; film producer Kerianne Flynn; and entrepreneur and former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe.

The crew will travel aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket from the company’s launch site, located 30 miles north of Van Horn, Texas.
The 11-minute suborbital flight will take them just beyond the Kármán line — the internationally recognized boundary of space at 62 miles above Earth — before returning.
While Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman in space in 1963, this flight marks the first time a full crew of women will travel to space together.
Before the mission, the group posed for Elle magazine in matching black power outfits. “We’re a crew!” they shouted in unison.
The shoot also marked a unique first: all the passengers will go to space with professional hair and makeup.
“Who would not get glam before the flight?” Sánchez said. Perry chimed in: “Space is going to finally be glam. Let me tell you something.
If I could take glam up with me, I would do that. We are going to put the ‘ass’ in astronaut.”
