Some miscreants, on Monday in Abuja, attacked and disrupted peaceful protest organised by the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) over the continued detention of Omoyele Sowore and others.
Others, according to CSOs, are Agba Jalingo, Dadiyata and every prisoner of conscience to be released before the new year.
The CSOs had gathered at the front of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Maitama to present a letter to the chairman of the commission when the miscreants invaded the venue and descended on the protesters.

One of the leaders of the groups, Comrade Deji Adeyanju was so unlucky as he was mercilessly beaten while his cloth was torn by the miscreants.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the attack, the Director, Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), Mr Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, said the government should comply with Court orders by releasing all Nigerians arrested illegally.
He lamented that many have been in detention for the past 15 years without trials, describing it as inhuman.
Responding on behalf of the chairman of the commission, the Director, Human Resources Management, Mr Balarabe Sadiq, who frowned at the attack, further encouraged the protesters to continue with their peaceful protest as it is their right to show their grievances whenever the need arises.
He said it is the duty of the police to protect all Nigerians, irrespective of their tribe, religion or political inclinations. He, therefore, promised to transmit the message to the appropriate quarters.
The director said the commission has been meeting appropriate authorities on the continued detention of Sowore and others.
