South-West: Sharia law will trigger religious crisis, Primate Ayodele warns

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has cautioned the governor of Oyo, Seyi Makinde, to quickly address the issue of the proposed Sharia law establishment in the state.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele warned Seyi Makinde not to allow his state to burn because the proposal has the ability to throw the state into turmoil and a long-lasting religious crisis.

The man of God made it known that Sharia Law isn’t appropriate in Yorubaland and it is only going to rubbish the government of Seyi Makinde because he won’t be able to sustain it if it passes.

He noted that it doesn’t make any relevance and that it won’t make any sensible impact in the country.

“The proposed Establishment of Sharia law isn’t appropriate in Yorubaland and this is going to cause nuisance to the government. Seyi Makinde should be careful not to ruin Oyo because they won’t be able to sustain it.

“This will lead to a religious crisis and doesn’t have any relevance. Our leaders just start on a good note and end it badly. It is not in people’s interest, it’s a means to cause division. It will be a disaster for the state and country. The governor needs to address it urgently; it’s not reasonable and sensible.”

Primate Ayodele stated that Nigerian leaders need to understand the instruments of development and that Sharia law isn’t one of them, rather, it’s an instrument of division.

“Sharia law will make no sensible impact on the country; we don’t have leaders that understand the instrument that will bring development. Sharia law will bring no development into the country, just like the reliance on crude oil, too, that won’t create any significant improvement.

“All we should be thinking about is development but instead of the government of Oyo to think of development, they are dragging religion into the system.”
