The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) on Monday called on manufacturers and other stakeholders to embrace efficient environmental safety management during production to save the ecosystem.
The Director-General of SON, Osita Aboloma, made the appeal in Jos at a workshop for stakeholders on the relevance of environmental management for an efficient and sustainable ecosystem.
The workshop was organised in collaboration with SENTIGATE Nigeria Ltd., a human resource firm.

Aboloma said that critical environmental issues demanded proper management of water and sewage, toxic wastes, radiation, soil contamination through efficient and sustainable use of resources.
The director-general, who was represented by Mr Nwagbara Emeka, the Regional Coordinator of SON for North Central, said that the workshop was in line with its mission and objective as contained in SON Act 2015.
Mr Musa George, the Plateau Coordinator of SON, said that the aim of the workshop was to sensitise manufacturers on how to manage their activities to make the ecosystem safe.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that participants were drawn from the manufacturing sector in the North Central part of the country.
