Soludo, Hon Somtochukwu congratulates Etiaba at 81

The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, extends his warmest congratulations to Dame (Dr.) Virgy Etiaba on the occasion of her 81st birthday celebration.

Dame Virgy Etiaba, CON, a native of Nnewi, served as the Governor of Anambra State from November 2006 to February 2007, marking her as the first woman to hold such a position in a Nigerian state.

Governor Soludo, on behalf of the state and its citizens, congratulates Dame Virgy for reaching this remarkable milestone and acknowledges her dedicated service to our great state.

The Governor further emphasizes the significance of birthdays as moments to cherish the gift of life. He highlights Dame Virgy’s selfless commitment and contributions to public service in Anambra State as commendable.

Governor Soludo extends his prayers, wishing that as she celebrates this special day with family and friends, Dame Virgy’s life remains filled with continued love, good health, and happiness.

In a separate expression of admiration, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, describes Dame Virgy Etiaba as a woman of many positive qualities.

The Speaker asserts that the former Governor not only made history but also brought a human touch to governance during her tenure. He applauds Dame Virgy for being the first Governor in the history of Nigeria to sign the Child Rights Bill into law, emphasizing her role in using tenderness and wisdom to defuse political crises in the state.

Encouraging other women in the state to emulate Dame Virgy’s attributes, the Speaker acknowledges her positive impact, making Ndi Anambra, especially women, proud. He concludes with a prayer for God to continue guiding Dame Virgy and granting her a long life to carry on her Godly assignments.

These congratulatory messages were signed and released to journalists in Awka on Saturday by Christian Aburime and Emma Madu, respectively.
