Sokoto: Police parade seven suspects for robbery, homosexuality

Sokoto state police commissioner, CP Ibrahim Kaoje, has advised parents to always create time for their children to ask questions on how they relate with people.

CP Kaoje stated this while parading seven suspected criminals, who specialised in robbery, rape, drugs as well as homosexuality.

According to the CP, one Shamsudeen Muhammad of Kware local government was arrested with three black nylon suspected to be Indian helm, 300 pieces of D5 tablets and 175 pieces of Exol 5 tablets.

Also paraded with him were Bello Yusuf of Wurno LGA and Nafiu Abubakar of Kwanawa area, Sokoto, with 175 pieces of D5 tablets, 941 pieces of Exol 5 tablets and 52 wraps of Indian hemp and stolen GSM respectively.

Police also paraded one Kabiru Adamu of Unguwar Mayana, Gusau in Zamfara state who conspired with one Ibrahim Lawal from Kebbi state (now at large) and stole a Boxer motorcycle with registration number MKW 388 WD, valued at 184,000 naira belonging to Suraju Auwalu of Girabshi area of Sokoto.

Meanwhile, CP Kaoje described homosexuality and rape as the latest menace confronting the state presently and urged parents and religious leaders to advise the public on why it should be discontinued.

He described homosexuality as the worst sin which every practising religion preach against.

The CP, stated this while parading Shehu Amadu (21), Muzambilu Muhammad and Shafiu Almustapha, all males for rape and homosexual activities.

While Amadu was arrested for forcefully having carnal knowledge of one Talatu Garba, a six years old girl in the farm after chasing away her eight years old brother.

The duo of Muhammad and Almustapha, both males were arrested by the police following information that the two suspects were indulging in unlawful sexual intercourse (through the anus), against the order of nature.

Speaking with journalists, one of the suspects, Almustapha, confessed to the crime and disclosed that they have been into it for over six years.

According to him, ” I was introduced to homosexuality since when I was a kid, one man in our area will invite me to his house and give me money to sleep with me.

“When I came of age, I decided to have a permanent one for myself in which he will always be available to me.

“We have been doing this for over six years now. Sometimes if I need him, I will call him or just go to his house or his shop and we would make love.

“I am the husband while Muhammad is my wife, and he does call me too anytime he is in the mood to have sex” he added.
