He, however, stressed the need for collaborative efforts between the two arms of government with a view to further uplifting the state to the highest level.
Receiving the speaker and members of the house, Governor Tambuwal, congratulated the speaker and entire members on their election and wished them a successful tenure in office.
He assured the entire 30 members of the house that they would be carried along without any discrimination on the basis of party affiliation.
He, therefore, reminded them as elected representatives of their various constituencies, they are expected to work assiduously for the progress and development of the state.
He further explained that the election of the House leadership has no doubt confirmed the fact that politics has progressed in Sokoto state.
According to him, “what obtained in the election of House leaders in Sokoto is history that is repeating itself because a similar incident occurred in 1979 where then NPP produced Senate president and ruling NPN produced Deputy senate president” he added.
Tambuwal further said that the same scenario unfolded during the immediate past Senate leadership in the country.
