Sokoto L-PRES establishes grievance redress office committee

Published by

As part of an effort to unify members of the L-PRES staff in Sokoto, a Grievance Redress Office Committee has been formed to address issues that may arise during ongoing project activities in the state.

The establishment of this grievance redress committee marks a significant step towards ensuring transparency and accountability in the implementation of the Sokoto L-PRES project.

It offers a platform for project beneficiaries to voice their concerns and have them addressed promptly and fairly.

During the inauguration of the committee members, State Project Coordinator Sirajo Abubakar emphasised that the main objective of the committee is to handle and resolve any grievances or complaints that may arise during the project’s implementation.

He noted that the committee is responsible for investigating and addressing grievances from affected individuals and recommending appropriate actions to the State Project Coordinator for resolution.

Abubakar further stated that the committee should ensure that all grievances and complaints are resolved in a timely and transparent manner.

Additionally, it is tasked with maintaining records of all grievances and their resolutions for future reference and providing periodic reports to the State Project Coordinator on the status of grievances and their resolutions.

The committee comprises the Social Safeguard Officer as Chairperson, the Gender-Based Violence Officer as a member, an M&E Officer as a member, the Environmental Officer as a member, and the Project Engineer as a member.

The communication/ICT officer will serve as the committee’s secretary.
