Sokoto Government to spend N380m for Ramadan feeding

Sokoto State Governor, Rt hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has approved the sum of 380 million Naira for this year’s Ramadan feeding programme in the state.
This was disclosed  on Sunday by the state deputy Governor Hon. Manir Mohammed Dan-Iya, who represented the state Governor, in his remarks at the flag off of the distribution of the 2018 zakkat, Sokoto state 2019 Ramadan package and Qatar charity for the poor, held in the auditorium of sultan Muhammad maccido institute for Quran and general studies sokoto.
Tambuwal said that government increases its spendings on the feeding programme from 300million Naira to 380 million Naira with a view to creating additional feeding centres to enable beneficiaries to break their fast with ease.
He disclosed that the sum of 258 million naira would be spent for the purchase of Ramadan and sallah packages under the state zakkat and endowment commission while 175 million naira is for purchase of Ramadan package for distribution to Imams, deputy Imams and other religious leaders under the state ministry for religious affairs
Tambuwal urged ministry for religious affairs and state zakkat and endowment commission to work together for the attainment of the set objective.
Commenting sultan Muhammad Saad Abubakar commended the sokoto state government for sustaining the annual gesture
The Sultan urged Muslims to coexist peacefully for the progress and development of the country. He also prayed for continuous peace and stability in the state and country as a whole.
