Tambuwal
The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Sokoto State accused the state governor and his political party of great maladministration in the discharge of his constitutional duties.
The party also frowned at Governor Aminu Tambuwal’s administration quest to receive a new loan to the tune of N28.7 billion.
The chairman of the party, Hon. Isa Sadiq Acida, while addressing journalists in Sokoto on Sunday described the governor’s move as an act of ‘wickedness’ to saddle unborn generations with debts that are inexplicable.
“We in the APC are seriously disbursed by the recent disclosure that the Sokoto State Government is going to receive another huge loan of N28.7 billion.
“With this development, Sokoto State is set to become the second most indebted state in Nigeria, second only to Lagos.
“We are disbursed by the fact that a State like Sokoto, with an economy that is weak, is further being impoverished with loans that are like to be squandered on non profitable ventures,” Acida stated.
Acida also raised the party concern over what it described as a deliberate removal of certain individuals from the payroll of the local government councils of the state.
According to Acida, “These deliberate removals, otherwise called omissions, have become another political weapon in the hands of the PDP administration in Sokoto State.
“We wish to categorically call on the State Government to put a stop to this this political vendetta. If the Government does not call its officials to order, the APC will not hesitate to take a roll call of the victims and their relevant data, for appropriate action.”
The party said it commended the people of the state for their endurance, adding that “every right thinking citizen of the state must be seriously disbursed with the way and manner the PDP led administration has been running the affairs of our state.”
It further accused the party of the inability to differentiate politics from administration, stressing that the PDP led administration in the state is a complete failure.
The statement said the few capital projects are more intended as a window dressing to impress visitors.
It said the quality of the projects can not stand test of time as “a number of them have already started cave in, especially the new dual carriage way near the Federal Science College, Sokoto”.
