The All Progressive Congress APC has accused the ruling party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party of plans to rig the forthcoming general elections in the state.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the state Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Sambo Bello Danchadi and released to the Journalist on Tuesday.
Briefing journalist at the state Secretariat of the party, Danchadi accused PDP led state government of denying students from embarking on holidays for to cast votes in their respective polling units, but to use them to cast votes with PVCs that do not belong to them in favour of PDP.
According to Danchadi, ” Reliable information available to our party, obtained from some students, school principals and parents who are opposed to this evil plan has it that unclaimed PVCs will be distributed to the students for this project.

” Some of the principals have already started passing down the instruction to their students directing them to use those PVCs in casting their votes for PDP.
” The Sokoto State chapter of APC wishes to draw the attention of all the Security Agencies in the state to this wicked plan to deny electorate in the state a free and democratic choice, particularly in these public schools”
The statement also calls on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to take note of the development and take necessary actions to ensure that only persons who were duly accredited should be allowed to vote.
The party also called on principals of Public Schools in the State to steer clear of partisan politics, while advising parents to withdraw their wards from school, should the state government refused close Schools in the state during the elections.
The party, however, vows to take all necessary steps including legal options to ensure that anyone caught with PVCs that does not belong to him should be dealt with according to the electoral acts.
