SLOOGA pays tribute to Gov Akeredolu

The Alumni Association of Saint Louis Owo Old Girls Association (SLOOGA) of Saint Louis Grammar School, Owo, in Ondo State has  extolled the virtues of the Late Governor of Ondo State, Dr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for creating an enabling environment for all  the Alumni in the state to  partner with the various ministries, especially the ministry of education, under the leadership of Mr. Femi Agagu, the Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology
President of the alumni,  Mrs Philomena Ebunoluwa Malumi Who stated this recently, added  that  the former Governor saw the need for the expansion and growth of the various Schools in the state and  gave the various alumni the benign environment needed for her to leverage on, as it  concerns them both the  individual Alumnus and collectively.
The alumni honcho in a statement signed by it Public Relations Officer Clementina Olomu and made available to the press,  Malumi, said that Akeredolu ensured that the ministry of education was  open and accessible for partnership and ideas sharing for projects.
In similar development, the Vice President of the group Mrs.  Patience  Otrofanowei, stated that Akeredolu always listened to voice of reason once he was satisfied that it  was of  best interest of the people, adds value to the  them and improves their total wellbeing and welfare,  he was all out for it.
She said that it was as a result of this,  he returned the missionary schools to mission four  decades ago after they were taken over by government, for proper and better administration.
“Recalled that the agitation by  the missionary was on, long before Akeredolu came into office, but was made possible by his administration after the missionaries concerned fulfilled the  conditions laid down by his administration, which included, non-discrimination against any admission seekers, among other rules.
Meanwhile Barrister  Oyeyemi Jimi-Salami who is an ex-officio of the alumni stated that  Akeredolu gave the education sector a boost when he  mandated all public and private secondary schools across the state to create counseling units for the pupils.
She said that the availability of the   functional counseling units, coupled with conferences organized by his Commissioner of Education Science and Technology, Mr. Femi Agagu, helped in shaping the minds of these students and also prepared them for a brighter future.
North American Chairperson of the alumni, Mrs. Margaret  Adeyemi described late Akeredolu as a man who always backed his words with action. She added that Akeredolu knew and acknowledged the import of his manifesto during campaign, hence he was a confident and bold lawyer who knew he was  going to fulfill them to the best of his ability and admiration of all.
Adeyemi  said, “As an indigene of the State, living in North America, I visit home regularly, hence I can speak authoritatively on some of the achievements of Akeredolu and his personality from all perspectives, both in  agriculture, security, industrialization and in building long lasting structures for the state” She stated that Akeredolu was a man well loved by his people because he stood tall for them all through his tenure as their governor.
Malumi however commended his successor, Governor Orimisan Lucky Aiyedatiwa for building on his  legacies
