Shun personal attacks in campaigns

Published by

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has chosen November 18, as the date for the commencement of electioneering campaigns.

My advice to the politicians at all levels is to make their campaigns based on objectivity and maturity not on personal attack on opponents, mudslinging and character assassination on the pages of traditional media and social media handles to dress down each other or other hostile devices that aim to misrepresent the opponent in the eyes of the electorate.

Make campaign statements that will foster our unity and desist from stoking the embers of ethnicity or religious crises because the level of violence being witnessed in the country today is not good for the development of any nation.
