Shun bullying of fellow mankind, NASFAT UK urges Muslim faithful

..says ‘we’re all created to be error makers

The Nasrul-Lahi-il-Fatih Society of Nigeria, United Kingdom (UK) Chapter, has called on the Muslim Ummah globally to shun bullying and harassment of others in society, stating that the call became imperative as human beings are all prone to errors, created by Almighty Allah.

The Chief Imam of Jamatul Islamiyah Mosque, Campbell, London, Sheikh AbdulHakeem Omotosho, made the call while speaking at the Night of Majesty, Lailatul Qadr, held at Oasis Banquet Hall, 6-8 Thames Road, London. The event was organized by NASFAT UK under the theme: The Danger of Misguided Sects and Deviant Beliefs in Islam.

Sheikh Omotosho, who was the guest speaker, expressed concern over the prevailing trends among Muslims worldwide regarding their interactions with one another.

He noted that present-day communities lack the true love and accommodation that were inherited from their ancestors.

The Muslim cleric lamented that some groups of Muslims advocate for the cause of Islam, while others condemn such gatherings and bully fellow believers over their sins.

He described this as an infraction that must be addressed, emphasizing that “we are all prone to errors, created by Almighty Allah.”

“Anywhere you have a group of Muslims advocating for the cause of Islam, another group will condemn it and bully fellow believers over their sins.

“This negative infraction is not acceptable in Islam. It is important that we discuss it. Nowadays, for any minor sin, some people are quick to label others as ‘non-believers’ and bully them.

“As Muslims, we must continue these important discussions among ourselves to inform, educate, and reorient society, preventing this infraction, which is increasing daily.

“Almighty Allah created us as sinners, and we must fulfill His rites to cleanse ourselves of sins and continue to love one another rather than fostering hatred. This is not the way to promote Islam or fight Jihad for the cause of Almighty Allah,” Omotosho admonished.

Earlier, in his opening address, the Zonal Chairman of the NASFAT UK/Ireland Zone, Dr. Daud Amuzat, welcomed all Muslim faithful to the greatest night of blessings and favors of Almighty Allah, The Night of Majesty, expressing his delight in being part of the unique event.

Amuzat emphasised that the increasing spread of misinformation by self-acclaimed scholars on social media was a serious concern.

He noted that while Muslims cannot live in isolation from technological advancements, the misuse of social media to attack fellow Muslims was unacceptable, stressing that “this is not the way our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) fought for Islam.”

“I am very happy to be part of this unique event. It is important that I address this serious concern about the increasing spread of strange ideas on social media by self-acclaimed scholars who mislead sinners.

“As Muslims, we cannot live in isolation from technological advancements, but that does not justify the continued misuse of social media to attack fellow Muslims. That is not the way our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) fought for Islam,” he said.

“As Muslims, our duty is to continue encouraging people to do what Almighty Allah commands and to desist from all forms of social media bullying and harassment,” he added.

The Coordinator of NASFAT Swansea Group, Wales, UK, Alhaji Abdulfatai Omotunde, expressed joy over the turnout at the event and congratulated all NASFAT members in the UK, Ireland, and across the world for witnessing this night of blessings.

Omotunde, who led a delegation of executive members to the event, prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the sins of Muslim faithful and bless them in accordance with His promise.

The event was attended by NASFAT branches and zonal members from across the UK and Ireland.
